Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and enthusiastic Technical Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2022.
Armadale SHS is seeking enthusiastic and collaborative professionals who have the skills and passion to achieve excellence within the role of Technical Support Officer.
Working within our dedicated and passionate ICT management team; our technical support staff utilise their excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide high-level support to teachers, students and staff throughout the school – which is a fully-networked, SOE4.5 school site. All students have access to banks of laptops and iPads to support their learning.
Suitable applicants will ideally have a strong attention to detail, meet deadlines and work collaboratively at all times. They will possess the necessary qualities to maintain our computer network effectively. This includes an ability to install, troubleshoot and maintain information systems and equipment throughout the school. Knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
- JAMFSchools mobile device management for iPad devices
- Maintenance of the network and associated peripherals
- Photocopier/printer troubleshooting – including use of Tier 3 PaperCut tracking
- NAPLAN/OLNA technologies administration
- Management of assets, resources and equipment using Hardcat and CatScan
- Ticketing via the Freshdesk portal, including development of knowledge base articles
- Responding to technical queries from school staff

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- Conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to information technology problems.
- Ability to install and maintain network systems incorporating the Internet and Electronic Mail.
- Organisational skills to develop effective administrative practices and the initiative to work with minimum supervision.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
