The Education Business Services (EBS) division has a vacant position for Graduate Officer to join the Graduate Development Program.
We currently have a twenty-four (24) month fixed term, full time contract for Graduate Officer (Commercial Services) role, commencing as soon as possible.
You will be joining a cohort of five (5) graduate officers that have commenced the Graduate Development Program in January 2021.

The Commercial Services Directorate is responsible for providing procurement and commercial legal support to the Department and schools; contract planning, establishment and management; insurance and fleet management.

About the role
As a Graduate Officer you will be joining the Department’s EBS Graduate Development Program. The program offers you the chance to start your own bright future with a personalised development opportunity like no other. As a graduate officer, you will complete the program, rotating through different aspects of work within your specialisation. Taking on meaningful work from day one, you’ll be guided through a tailored training program which aims to accelerate your personal and professional development.
As well as developing your technical knowledge, skills and working with contemporary practices, you will learn to professionally collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to policy, plans and systems that support the State’s educational finance, purchasing or information technology and communication systems.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

Tell us how you used your research and analytical skills, prioritised your time, worked through problems and used your communication skills to achieve results and complete the project.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a relevant tertiary degree.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
