Appointment Pool
Poynter Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Year's 1-6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2022.
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated, innovative and have strong curriculum knowledge and pedagogical practices in their nominated year levels. They will ideally possess the ability to communicate effectively with parents, external agencies, service providers and students.
We are seeking teachers with professional skills to work in both a co-operative and collaborative work environment. As a teacher at our school, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to utilise current educational research as part of evidence based decision making in review and decision making processes. Evidence of Information Technology integration across the curriculum and a range of evidence based instructional strategies that add value to the school's existing academic progress will be desirable attributes of applicants.
Poynter PS opened in October 1980 and is located in the suburb of Duncraig. The school's unique location, only 15 kilometres from the CBD, affords easy access to beaches and quality leisure and sporting facilities. Poynter Primary School has a proud academic tradition of providing quality educational learning opportunities across all learning areas. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
