This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021.
Bridgetown Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher who is passionate about providing high quality public school education.
The successful applicant will ideally possess a highly effective, evidence based pedagogical approach that prioritises explicit teaching while providing a balance with planned, purposeful inquiry learning opportunities. You will have a sound understanding of the West Australian Curriculum and will implement highly engaging programs, providing a broad range of experiences for all students, whilst supporting students of differing abilities through an inclusive approach and differentiated curriculum. It is highly desirable for the successful applicant to have experience teaching Seven Steps to Writing Success, Talk4Write, Letters & Sounds and Soundwaves.
The successful applicant will positively contribute to, and work as part of, our effective collaborative approach to achieve school priorities and form mutually respectful partnerships with colleagues and our school community. You will promote a learning environment based on respect and high expectations to ensure all children are achieving their maximum ability.
Applicants should be committed to building their professional capacity through continuous learning. You will be able to actively engage in self-refection to improve your practice and actively engage in observation and feedback practices to develop your understanding of our whole school programs and pedagogy. You will welcome peers and leaders into your classroom for observations and walkthroughs to support feedback practices. Similarly, you will undertake observations of your peers and provide purposeful feedback to them.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
