This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2021.
Bremer Bay Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Gardener – Handyperson to join their team.
As the successful applicant you will be passionate about gardening and proactive in maintaining the school grounds to a high standard. You will have a sound knowledge of gardening equipment and the tools required for minor maintenance. You will be required to perform basic maintenance around the school, such as fixing fastenings, maintaining wooden walkways and up keeping reticulation systems. The successful applicant will have good communication skills, be self-motivated and have the ability to manage time effectively, in this independent role.
Bremer Bay PS is located approximately 500km south of Perth, 180km east of Albany. Bremer Bay is situated in a pristine environment, surrounded by beautiful white beaches and the Fitzgerald River National Park. Our school is well established and maintained, providing an excellent educational environment for both students and staff. The school comprises of an administration building, library, school community room, upper primary classroom and a purpose built early childhood classroom. Other facilities include a synthetic grass surface court, junior playground, two soft fall playgrounds and grassed oval.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete introductory School Gardener training within 3 months of commencement in metropolitan areas or as soon as practicable for regional areas;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a ten (10) day breach period to this selection process.
