Fitzroy Valley District High School (DHS) is seeking a collaborative, dedicated and highly motivated Mathematics teacher to join our school.
Applicants will ideally possess a strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and have experience in explicit teaching and applying high impact teaching strategies within the classroom.
As the successful applicant, you will self-reflect and assess the effectiveness of you teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. You will have the capacity to deliver highly engaging programs that are relevant to Year 7 to 12 students needs and highly effective interpersonal skills that enable you to work successfully with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. Ideally, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to implement differentiated teaching practice within the classroom and the application of skills and strategies that support the development of Numeracy across lower school classes and into the foundation courses in year 11/12.

Fitzroy Valley District High School is situated in the Fitzroy Valley in the scenic Kimberley region of Western Australia. Many camping and fishing spots such as Geikie Gorge and Tunnel Creek are situated close by. Fitzroy Crossing is located 380kms to the regional tourist attraction of Broome.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
