Appointment Pool
Alkimos Beach Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of hardworking and enthusiastic Finance and Administration Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2021.
As a Finance and Administration Officer you will be responsible for assisting the Manager Corporate Services in the financial and administration processes of the school. Suitable applicants will coordinate financial and administration tasks and undertake financial planning, monitoring, research and analysis to meet the outcomes of the school’s business plan. You will assist in the coordination of recruitment processes and diverse daily operations, as well as provide financial advice to staff. This will include the administration and operation of school databases and management information systems. You will supervise and coordinate school office staff across a diverse range of daily operations including attendance, enrolments, receipting and billing.
It is highly desirable for applicants to have knowledge of a variety of computer systems and be highly organised to meet stringent reporting deadlines plus be experience working in a busy administrative environment. Experience with supervising staff, Schools Information System (SIS) Administration, advanced RM Billing knowledge, RM Finance, and MS Office producing mail merge documents and excel spread sheets will be highly regarded.
Alkimos Beach PS, located approximately 45km from Perth, opened in 2017 catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are a school with strong values and are committed to developing a highly engaging and dynamic learning program for our students. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Sound financial management knowledge, skills and experience and the ability to provide input to budget preparation and marketing plans.
- Well-developed administrative and organisational skills and experience in the operation of financial and business management information systems.
- Sound written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team environment and develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Research, conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and experience in data analysis and reporting.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
