The ICT Governance and Planning Directorate is seeking to appoint a highly dedicated and motivated individual to the role of Contract Manager – ICT Services.
The Contract Manager – ICT Services will establish and maintain ICT contract management procedures, which ensure the accountability and integrity of the ICT contract management process and the delivery of ICT service contract outcomes. This includes ICT contract reviews, service scope tracking, negotiation and management and escalation of risks. You will manage and maintain ICT contracts with private sector service partners and providers, including staff onboarding, exiting of existing ICT contract arrangements, termination notices, and ICT contract payment tracking. You will have a broad knowledge of ICT and the ICT services required for outsourcing arrangements within the context of a large organisation.
The successful applicant will require highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders and build effective relationships and networks as you may be required to liaise with other parties, including partners, suppliers and the Department of Finance, on matters pertaining to procurement and contracts.
The successful applicant will also be required to undertake analysis, preparation, and presentation of complex and technical documents from a range of contract and technical data sources.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Practical knowledge of and experience in the development of contract documentation, tender analysis and contract administration in the context of the public sector contracting framework.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the management of performance-based ICT service contracts within a large organisation.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in analysing and reviewing contract performance in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders and build effective relationships and networks.
- Extensive written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and present complex and technical documents
- Highly developed organisational, evaluation, analytical and conceptual skills.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
