This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2021.
Boyup Brook District High School (DHS) is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic applicant who is willing to commit to our school community. This position has opportunity for growth and development as a teacher in a varied and interesting worksite which is well resourced and supported.
The position requires teaching of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) curriculum from Years 6-10. A preparedness to teach Home Economics is also highly desirable.
The successful applicant should commit to our very successful Positive Behaviour Support Framework that explicitly teaches our core values of Respect, Resilience and Striving for Success. We are also seeking an applicant who will engage in our supportive Boyup Brook community.
Situated in the South West of Western Australia approximately 270km from Perth, Boyup Brook DHS is a level 5 district high school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 10 with students moving on to other schools for the Year 11/12 component of their secondary education. Students are drawn from families that are involved in farming, viticulture and local business. The school is located on two separate sites, with students from K - 6 educated at the primary site and students from years 7-10 at the Middle School site 600 metres away. The school was selected as an Independent Public School in 2012.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
