Mullewa District High School (DHS) is seeking a professional and dedicated Secondary Generalist Teacher to join our friendly team.
We will be going in the second year of our involvement with the Fogarty Edvance program and the successful applicant will be willing to take on explicit direct instruction (EDI) and direct instruction (DI). This role seeks to re-engage secondary students and implement high impact instruction; including EDI and DI. The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively with all staff and build positive relationships with carers and families. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our Aboriginal students whilst building a positive relationship with the local community.
The successful applicant will be committed to excellence in teaching, have outstanding classroom and behaviour management skills as well as highly developed interpersonal and IT skills. They will be required to teach English, Mathematics, Science and HASS to our lower secondary high school students.
The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate the ability to create an effective, engaging and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. They will have an understanding of appropriate assessments, and be able to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class, aligned strongly to the Western Australian Curriculum.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
