Appointment Pool

Corrigin District High School (DHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers (Kindergarten to Year 6) for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.

Suitable applicants will foster and encourage innovation and make achieving high student outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy the core of their work along with a strong focus on student health and wellbeing. Suitable applicants will ideally possess experience in implementing explicit teaching, structured Literacy / Numeracy Blocks, Talk 4 Writing, Letters and Sounds, Paul Swan and Kagan strategies to achieve positive student outcomes. Suitable applicants will be highly organised, have excellent written and oral communication skills, high level interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and administration. Additionally, they will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, be willing to participate in coaching and peer observation as part of their professional growth, and a commitment to working with parents and the wider community.
Corrigin DHS is situated in the Southern Wheatbelt 240 km from Perth, and caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 10. We are proud of our strong ethos of a caring, inclusive learning community where every child is treated with kindness as a valued individual.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
