Are you seeking to develop your skills and expertise across workforce planning matters?
Workforce Policy and Coordination is seeking an individual to join our team as the Graduate Workforce Planning Officer.
The successful applicant will be required to have strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work within a team and independently to review and enhance workforce planning objectives whilst undertaking workforce analysis, research and reporting to provide support and assistance to managers and key stakeholders. This role requires you to have the ability to effectively multi task and meet deadlines as you will extract, manipulate and analyse data across various systems, carry out designated research and draft correspondence including reports, briefing papers, internal memos, ministerials and parliamentary questions.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills including presentation, written communication and report writing skills.
- Research and problem solving skills, including the ability to use computer software to manage and manipulate data sets.
- Initiative and sound organisational skills including the ability to effectively multi task, prioritise, meet deadlines and work effectively within a team environment

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a relevant tertiary qualification
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
