Leonora District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and hardworking Teacher - Early Childhood Education to join a committed team, who believe that all students can learn. You will be committed to lifting student performance and maintaining high expectations through innovative and exceptional teaching practices, playing your part in the Kindergarten to Year 12 learning journey.
The school has a supportive and positive culture, with innovative programs such as two-way science, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen-Garden and Big Picture Design Education. The suitable applicant will promote an inclusive environment of active play based learning, with the ability to differentiate the curriculum to cater for students of varying needs and behaviours. This will include an understanding of the Whole School programs: Letters and Sounds, Talk 4 Writing, Zone of Regulations and Positive Behaviour Support, to enhance learning outcomes for all students. An ability to teach in The Arts (Visible &/or Music) would be advantageous.
As an Early Childhood Education Teacher, you will implement a Play Based Approach to learning and have a working knowledge of the National Quality Standards (NQS) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Leonora, a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, is located approximately 833 kilometres northeast of Perth, and 237 kilometres north of the city of Kalgoorlie. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with an Aboriginal population of approx. 78%.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
