Mount Pleasant Primary School (PS) are seeking a dedicated primary teacher to teach a middle school primary class.
The successful applicant will be a passionate and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should already have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to deliver content in an engaging manner. The successful applicant will have commitment to providing a stimulating, innovative learning environment to ensure that all children are achieving their maximum potential.
The successful applicant will possess outstanding interpersonal skills and have an ability to build strong working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Applicants who are proficient in the use of digital technology in the classroom and who are able to effectively differentiate classroom practices to cater for all learning styles would be well regarded.
It will be highly desirable for the successful applicant to have a broad experience in teaching a range of year levels and contexts, ability to differentiate the curriculum, with a focus on challenge and extension, and experience in working within an English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) environment.
Mount Pleasant PS is an Independent Public School situated in a riverside suburb, with Applecross, Ardross, Booragoon and Brentwood as its neighbours. The school serves a catchment area, which houses mainly professional and business families. The school opened in May 1953 and became an Independent Public School at the commencement of 2015.
The school, catering for Kindergarten to Year 6 students, is situated on a lovely, well treed and fully reticulated site in Queens Road Mt Pleasant. The school has a multicultural population and runs an English as a Second Language support program. The school has a stable and experienced staff, who work well as a team.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
