This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2021.
Kinross College is seeking a talented and passionate Teacher - French to lead our languages curriculum commencing Term 1 2021. This position will carry a Special Responsibility Allowance.
As a teacher at Kinross College you will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the College community. The successful applicant will be passionate about the French language. They will be confident in teaching students across Years 7 to 10 with particular focus on providing relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Curriculum. They will be able to incorporate technology to best meet the needs of our students based on researched informed pedagogy.
The successful applicant will have high expectations, demonstrate and lead a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. They will be flexible and adaptive, and be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching.
To be suitable, you will reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of methods, and promote an environment of active and positive learning. You will differentiate curriculum to meet the learning needs of your students and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, and a willingness to adopt a ‘restorative’ approach, you will work with students, teachers and the community to instil our school values, allowing students to achieve their full potential.
You will lead by example within the Learning Area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students according to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary classroom practice. There is scope develop your skills in emerging technologies including automated production and to further your aspirational interests. Suitable applicants would also assist in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, integrate information technology into the curriculum, assist with the pastoral care of students and liaise with parents as required.
Kinross College incorporates the John Fleming Explicit Teaching model, with a school wide professional learning program as part of our school wide pedagogy. Applicants are expected to have a strong commitment to up-skilling and ensuring the continued implementation of the model.
The expanding enrolment numbers over recent years, indicate the numerous specialist academic and sporting programs offered by the College, are resulting in the College becoming a highly preferred public school option. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
