This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2021.
Beverley District High School (DHS) is seeking a passionate, creative and team orientated Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) teacher to join our friendly team.
The successful applicant will teach STEAM to students from Year 1 to Year 6, with possible classes in Year 7 – 10. They will also lead Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts and Mathematics (STEM) Integration across the school. They will be able to build the capacity of staff in this area through coaching and skill development. The role will involve supporting students and working with staff to implement explicit direct instruction (EDI) approaches to scaffolded learning approaches that best cater for different learning styles, abilities and Students at Educational Risk.
The successful applicant will ideally be an experienced teacher who uses high levels of positive classroom management skills, has the ability to develop successful learning teams, build positive relationships with parents and form partnerships with local community organisations. They will be highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic and will take responsibility for quality hands on STEAM learning programs at both a classroom and whole school level. They will be skilled in leading and supporting other staff in curriculum improvement, as well as, having an excellent knowledge of the Science and Digital Technologies curriculum.
The successful applicant will be expected to manage a range of resources across the school and work with others to plan for improvement in STEAM. They will need to utilise excellent interpersonal skills to allow them to work with students, families, staff and the broader community to promote STEAM learning at Beverley DHS.
Beverley DHS is an Independent Public School which caters from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are proudly committed to high performance and high care for both staff and students. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
