This is a twenty-four (24) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021
The Midwest Education Regional Office (ERO) is seeking a motivated and proactive leader to take on the role of the Primary Extension Academic Challenge (PEAC) Teacher.
PEAC teachers are responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of supplementary extension and challenge programs for identified Gifted and Talented students in Years 4 and 6 in Primary Schools in the Western Australian public system. The PEAC Teacher is responsible for the management and delivery of outcomes-focussed, differentiated curriculum for students identified as gifted and talented, across the region. The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of Western Australian curriculum with some strength in teaching STEM.
The Midwest Education Regional Office provides services to schools across the Midwest managed by the Regional Executive Director and the Coordinator Regional Operations. Services are designed to support schools in the region by promoting system initiatives and providing support and quality assurance to enhance the outcomes of schooling in the region.
The PEAC Teacher will be based at Beachlands Primary School, with some travel throughout the Midwest being part of the role.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
