This is a twenty-four (24) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021
The Western Australian College of Agriculture – Cunderdin (WACOA) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Teacher – Agriculture Education to join their small and friendly team.
WACOA – Cunderdin is located 160kms east and less than 2 hours from the centre of Perth and 45 minutes from Northam. The college is a nationally recognised education and training institution and a ‘school of choice’, offering students in Year 11 & 12 an innovative approach to learning. The college is made up of four primary areas – Farm, Trade Training Centre (Trades), Class and Residential, all of which provide interactive and engaging learning programs for students.
The successful applicant should ideally be able to demonstrate a range of strategies to deliver differentiated curriculum and support students in a diverse senior secondary context. The position may be split between the teaching of Agricultural Production Systems, Plant and Animal. A thorough knowledge of senior secondary curriculum from year 11 and 12 General and ATAR will be advantageous, demonstrating initiative to engage and extend students. Highly developed interpersonal skills focused on collaboration, building and maintaining positive relationships are essential.

The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in developing highly competent, work-ready individuals.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
