We are seeking talented and passionate teachers to inspire curiosity and a desire to learn
Governor Stirling Senior High School (GSSHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and experienced Business Studies and Computing Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Suitable applicants will be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment. You will be engaging and energetic teaching style and be proficient at developing resources that meet the educational needs of our students. A high level of knowledge of teaching and assessing relevant courses of the WA Curriculum and the ability to maintain good communication with parents to keep them informed of the progress of their child.
Suitable applicants will reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of methods, and promote an environment of active and positive learning. You will differentiate curriculum to meet the learning needs of your students and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. GSSHS, situated on the banks of the Swan River in Woodbridge, caters for students of varying abilities, and offers the Department of Education Gifted and Talented Academic Program, a range of academic and Vocational Education Training (VET) programs and Approved Specialist Programs in Engineering, Arts Media and AFL Football. Governor Stirling SHS prepares students for life after high school with many options for academic and vocational pathways.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
