Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Kalamunda Senior High School (SHS) is looking to establish a pool of capable, innovative and experienced technical support officers to work in a small team to support our school in offering a quality education for our students.
The school recognises the need to prepare students for a rapidly changing world where technology plays as increasing role in students’ everyday lives. The school has a BYOD program and every classroom is equipped with Interactive Whiteboards. Video conferencing via Webex is used to deliver specialist courses with neighbouring schools. The school utilises the department’s online learning management system, Connect, Microsoft 365 and other third-party software including Academy and Clickview.
Suitable applicants will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. They will ideally have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels. A proactive approach with strong conceptual, organisational and analytical skills is highly desirable. They will ideally have the ability to install and maintain network systems and initiative to work with minimum supervision.
Skills and experience in Windows Server operating systems, WordPress CMS, networking, ICT best practices, Interactive White Boards and DoE specific systems such as DAM, SSS and SIG would be highly desirable.
Kalamunda SHS has an enviable reputation developed over 60 years of providing a quality education to all students. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- Conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to information technology problems.
- Ability to install and maintain network systems incorporating the Internet and Electronic Mail.
- Organisational skills to develop effective administrative practices and the initiative to work with minimum supervision.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
