Yanchep Secondary College (SC) is seeking a self-motivated Business Support Officer to join their dedicated team. Ideally, the successful applicant will have previous experience and be able use their initiative and work independently as well as work collaboratively within a team. The successful applicant will assist the Manager Corporate Services with a range of business operations. The ability to work under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with minimal supervision while effectively prioritising and meeting deadlines, is key to this role. Good interpersonal skills will be highly regarded and a willingness to be flexible and undertake other responsibilities and tasks as they arise at the school.
As a Business Support Officer you will be supporting a wide range of business operations including financial management, Human Resource services, facilities, asset management, and curriculum support services; as such, an excellent working knowledge of Schools Information system (SIS), RM Finance, RM Billing, Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS) Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS)and SEQTA would be highly desirable. The successful applicant will ideally have experience and the capacity to undertake a wide range of a support services. You will provide effective training to support staff in administrative procedures. You will need to assist and mentor other support staff and liaise with staff and students in the delivery of excellent administration support. As Business Support Officer, you will need to interact with empathy and professionalism within a diverse school community and with a range of government and outside agencies.
Yanchep SC provides young people with a high quality, comprehensive education. Our school opened in 2018 in a brand new purpose built school, designed to meet the needs of our students. The school is currently going through a refurbishment of areas after additional buildings have been added. This includes a purpose built hospitality teaching area and cafe. We have programs for students from Year 7 to 12. Our school has specialist teachers, a challenging curriculum that inspires excellence, and many options and pathways for students to succeed, including university, further training or employment.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Considerable experience providing input and effective support to the development, management, implementation and monitoring of business operations, systems and plans.
- Well developed financial management skills, including data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and the ability to provide recommendations.
- Sound human resource management knowledge and skills, including the ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of human resource management systems and processes.
- Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to identify appropriate solutions.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
