Carine Senior High School (CHS) is seeking a highly focused and enthusiastic individual to join our academic performance team.
We would like to appoint a second Academic Performance Manager, who will provide strategic leadership to improve the academic performance of predominantly Lower School Students - Years 7 to 10. The successful applicant will also play a part in the development of programs to support students who are trying to achieve Category 3 in the Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA). This role may also involve a teaching component of 0.4 to 0.6FTE in our literacy support programs.
The successful candidate should be collaborative, able to provide effective feedback and communication to parents, staff and students. The Academic Performance Manager will work closely with Associate Principal Lower School to monitor and improve the academic performance of Lower School students; develop and lead a whole school Literacy and Numeracy Strategic plan; analyse lower school data (including the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy [NAPLAN], OLNA and Reporting to Parents) to guide planning and facilitate the academic referral process for students at risk. This role will also involve taking an active role in Year 10 to 11 course counselling; organising the curriculum placement and transition process for primary school students; facilitating parent information evenings and assisting in the development of a culture of observation feedback with staff. Specialty in literacy and numeracy is desirable in a candidate.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
