Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated English Teachers to join their committed team.
Suitable applicants will be dedicated and highly motivated educators, with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. To be suitable for this role, you will be student and relationship focused, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment. You will reflect on and evaluate the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of methods available within the school and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve success.
Suitable Applicants will have the opportunity to apply their expertise of the English Learning Area across Years 7 to 12, utilising their knowledge and teaching experience in senior school Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE), to encourage and support our students to achieve outstanding results. Ideally you will have experience in or a willingness to teach ATAR English. You will also have an understanding of how to differentiate your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse range of students in your classes.
Knowledge of the English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) Progress Maps and an understanding of catering for the needs of EALD learners will be highly regarded but is not essential.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
