Kalbarri District High School (DHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher – Primary for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to support students of differing abilities through the provision of an inclusive, differentiated curriculum and have well-developed classroom management skills.
In this role the suitable applicants will be motivated to actively engage in classroom observation and feedback practices to develop their understanding of our whole school programs and pedagogy. As a member of the Kalbarri DHS staff, the suitable applicants will be part of an effective, collaborative team, utilising Explicit Instruction to deliver curriculum.
Kalbarri DHS is sited in the picturesque tourist town of Kalbarri. We are surrounded by a National Park and the township is located at the mouth of the Murchison River. The permanent population of the town is around 2,000, with the population rising up to 10,000 during the “tourist season”. The community is reliant on tourism, service industries and the fishing industry. As a District High School we have students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
