This is a three (3) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021
One Arm Point Remote Community School (RCS) is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior High School Vocational Education & Training (VET) and Generalist Teacher to join our proactive and dedicated teaching team.
The successful applicant will ideally be committed to excellence in teaching, have outstanding classroom and behaviour management skills as well as highly developed interpersonal skills. The ability to work collaboratively and proactively with knowledge of Senior School pathways and competency in teaching Foundation units in Year 11 and 12 is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally demonstrate the ability to create an effective, engaging and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. They will have an understanding of appropriate assessments, and be able to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class aligned strongly to the Western Australian Curriculum and the attainment of a Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
The successful applicant will teach a combination of subject areas including Foundation English Unit 1-4, Foundation Maths Unit 1 - 4, Visual Arts General, Foundation Career and Enterprise, Music and Aquaculture.
Other responsibilities will include Bardi Barista oordination, The Fish Appreciation Project, Aquaculture anCnex Technician & Feeding, Breakfast Club Coordination and Work Place Learning (WPL) Coordination. Vocational Education & Training (VET) Coordination and Consultations with individual lecturers in the different areas is also a component of the position.
One Arm Point Remote Community School is in Ardyaloon (One Arm Point), an Aboriginal community on the Dampier Peninsula in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
