Appointment Pool
Spencer Park Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Suitable applicants will have a focus on student learning and student achievement and have a detailed and practical understanding of the school's focus in implementing an explicit instruction school-wide pedagogy, particularly as this relates to the Spencer Park PS model (please refer to website). Suitable applicants must believe all students can learn and be committed to lifting student performance and maintaining high expectations through innovative and exemplary teaching practices. This will include an understanding of how to differentiate the curriculum to support and progress student learning and enhance outcomes with particular focus on whole-school programs including: Origo Stepping Stones Mathematics, STARS, PM Reading, Sound Waves, Spelling Mastery, MultiLIT, MiniLIT, Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics, Jolly Grammar, Talk for Writing and Seven Steps for Writing. An understanding of best practice with regard to meeting the curriculum, sensory and environmental needs of students with disabilities is highly desirable.

Spencer Park PS is situated in an established area of Albany on the south coast of Western Australia. The school has developed a rich history and tradition since its inception in 1959. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
