North Harrisdale Primary School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join their friendly team as a Network Support Officer. Our school is a new school and will commence on February 1st 2021. The successful applicant will have the unique opportunity to set-up an innovative approach to digital technologies in a foundation school environment with state-of-the-art facilities.
The Network Support Officer has the role of maintaining networked information technology resources effectively and efficiently in order to maximise educational and administrative outcomes within the Department of Education’s asset management and security regulatory framework. They ensure the integrity and security of educational and administrative data.
The successful applicant will ideally have recent experience in a school setting working with both PC and Apple digital technologies including Zulu Desk and caching. They will be able to manage the school fleet of student iPads using Mobile Device Management System (MDM). A sound understanding of SOE4 environment and experience working with the SSS Dashboard is highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be able to troubleshoot and provide explanations and training to staff members including desktop and software application and access to systems and resources. The successful applicant will provide input on system enhancements and implement new systems through research and identification of appropriate information technology resources. At times, you will be expected to work alongside teachers to support students to develop their digital technology skills and knowledge.
Developing positive relationships with staff and students with the ability to adapt to change is high regarded for this position. The successful applicant will ideally show initiative, flexibility and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for students and the school. The successful applicant will be able to work independently where required, but also liaise with staff as needed.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Knowledge of network systems and platforms relevant to the operating environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to the operational maintenance of Information Technology networks.
- Organisational skills, including the ability to plan and implement data security procedures.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Practical experience in developing and implementing user-training procedures.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
