Gilmore College is seeking to employ a dedicated Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will have high expectations, demonstrate a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. You will be flexible and adaptive teachers, able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching using the Gilmore College Whole School Instructional Model. An ability to teach HASS across all year levels from Years 7 – 12 is highly desirable. Applicants with experience teaching Business Management & Enterprise or Geography to Year 12 will be highly regarded.
You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You will build positive relationships with your students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students. Your input in a high functioning team of HASS teachers will be valued and lead to potential leadership opportunities in the areas of pedagogy, sustainability and curriculum.
Gilmore College is an Independent public school which opened in 2008 continuing 52 previous years of secondary education provided by Kwinana Senior High School. The school continues the education of students from within the City of Kwinana area primary schools. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
