Narrogin Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint inspiring and motivating individuals to engage with students that find mainstream ideals a challenge and require some transition and support to succeed into a desired pathway.
We currently have the following positions available:
- 3 x - permanent full-time position/s
Narrogin Educational Enrichment Program (NEEP) teachers will be expected to manage and deliver an educational program that caters for the individual learning needs of school students at educational risk from Yrs 8 -12. These flexible learning programs assist students who are unable to successfully engage with mainstream programs of study to access further education, training and/or work and to develop social and emotional as well as academic competencies.
To be eligible for the role you will need to be able to innovatively plan, coordinate and deliver engagement programs operating in schools or in off-site locations. The engagement programs are created to cater for an identified group of students who are disengaged or at risk of disengagement. Teachers must have the ability to motivate, re-engage and respond to the individual needs of young people with multiple risk factors. It is envisaged that students may be placed into engagement classes for up to 16 periods per week to integrate English, Maths, Science and HASSL content utilising a project based learning format.
Suitable applicants will possess ability to implement and provide an individual case management approach to student learning, behaviour and career development. Suitable applicants will have highly developed conceptual and analytical skills that demonstrate an ability to identify and clarify issues and problems experienced by young people and generate strategies to address them. Through highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, suitable applicants will be able to build effective relationships within and across the wider school community, and have proven experience of working within a team to achieve successful outcomes for students.

Narrogin SHS is a year 7 to 12 campus, with over 600 students, and has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a committed and competent workforce. The school is recognised for its flexible approach to education and training.
Narrogin is located in a picturesque valley surrounded by woodlands, farming country and rolling hills. Narrogin is approximately two hours from Perth, has an excellent range of commercial services, beautiful gardens and a reputation as a great place to live. You will be supported in moving to Narrogin with relocation costs and subsidised housing provided. The school also delivers a comprehensive induction program which involves the opportunity to connect with the wider community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
