This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.1FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2021.
Kojonup District High School (DHS) is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative teacher of Design and Technology – specialising in woodwork.
The successful applicant will be capable of creating and delivering high quality, engaging learning experiences across the full range of Design and Technology Contexts for Years 7-10. They will be able to make use of our manual arts workshop and also our 182-hectare farm facilities in their daily curriculum instruction. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment.
This is a highly specialised role. Design and Technology in Wood Work skills are essential. In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants without teaching qualifications may be considered. In this circumstance, a fixed term appointment as an untrained teacher for the 2021 school year will be offered
Kojonup is located on the western side of the lower Great Southern Region along Albany Highway, 260km from Perth. The population of the Shire of Kojonup is approximately 2,200, spread over the rural and urban areas.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
