Tom Price SHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Design and Technology to join our team. The successful applicant will be able to teach a range of Design and Technology courses from Year 7 to Year 12 including Materials Design Technologies, Auto Engineering, Woodwork and Metalwork. The ability to teach in the VET in Schools domain is desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to work collaboratively with others, engage positively with students and strive to meet he different learning needs of all students. They will have contemporary Design and Technology curriculum knowledge, allowing them to design, differentiate and deliver learning programs to students in Years 7 – 12.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
“This is a specialised role. In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants without teaching qualifications may be considered. In this circumstance, a fixed term appointment as an untrained teacher for the 2020/2021 school year will be offered.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
