Appointment Pool
Churchlands Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Design and Technology Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
The suitable applicants will be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. They will exhibit the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Technologies curriculum across Years 7 to 12 including Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD), Engineering and Mechatronics.
Suitable applicants will also engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice to create an environment conducive to learning and provide purposeful and relevant experiences that cater for different student learning needs. Applicants should also have a sound understanding of the Western Australian curriculum, with a focus on assessment and the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Churchlands SHS provides a wide variety of courses from Years 7 to 12 including: Digital Technologies, Engineering, Metal, Wood, Automotive and the integration of new technology using CAD and drawing software to utilise 3D printers and laser cutters.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
