Yule Brook College are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
School Officers are responsible for providing administrative support to the Administration team. The suitable applicants will have a friendly, positive and caring attitude and strong communication skills to interact with students, parents and the wider school community. You will also embrace the opportunity to learn new skills whilst actively sharing common goals and responsibilities to maximise the potential for students and to positively promote the College within the wider community.
The School Officer is responsible to the Manager of Corporate Services for providing assistance with administering the financial resources of the school. This includes undertaking account coding, GST coding and processing. It also includes assisting with purchase card statements, transporting receipts to the bank, checking for data integrity, collating figures for financial planning and budgeting. The School Office assists with managing the assets of the school, stocktakes, coordinating and negotiating maintenance and repairs and maintaining key register.
The School Officer assists with administering the human resources aspects of the school’s operations by assisting with the induction and training of front office school support staff, assisting with the development of induction programs and materials for school support staff, coordinating relief staff, and entering and verifying HRMIS data.
The School Officer provides high level administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the school office. This includes administering the operation of school databases, electronic and hard copy records and management information systems, and archiving of records, establishing ordering procedures for office consumables, creating and preparing school marketing materials for publication and undertaking routine analyses and reporting on results. The School Officer undertakes student-related activities such as providing information and advice and collecting documentation for enrolment of new students.
Suitable applicants will possess good verbal and written communication skills, expressing information and ideas clearly and possess strong organisational skills in delivering and prioritising tasks when under pressure. Additionally, you will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ideally, you will have experience in providing effective customer service and the ability to use computers and a range of application software packages. Including School Information System (SIS), RM Billing, RM Finance, Compass, Microsoft Office suite and other school systems.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
