Are you our Laverton School Dream Big Picture Teacher?

Big Picture educates ‘one student at a time in a community of learners’ in a project based learning model for Years 7 to 12. We require a talented and innovative teacher with strong classroom management skills and a willingness to implement the whole school Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBS) framework. They will be a teacher who respect cultures, individual learning pathways, has ongoing self-reflection and a willingness to work with school leadership and staff in the Laverton School Way.
Laverton School is a Kindergarten to Year 12 school on Wangkatja Land and the majority of our students are from the Wangkatja Nation. Laverton School will be introducing Wangkatja language lessons and there is an expectation that staff join students in acquiring and using language. Staff at Laverton School have mutually respectful relationships with families and the wider local community. We are committed to knowing every student and their needs well and wrapping around the whole child from Kindergarten to Year 12. Retaining our students to the end of Year 12 is a priority. Career development, pathway planning and developing the skills for students to walk between two worlds with strength and confidence are essential.
