Greenwood College is seeking a dedicated and committed teacher with experience and expertise in the sport of Volleyball to work in our Specialist Volleyball Program.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, creative and passionate Health and Physical Education teacher (HPE) who would be expected to be responsible for contributing to and supporting the collaborative approach already in place to further develop a culture of excellence in the HPE teaching and learning program. They will possess highly effective interpersonal skills, be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated. They will have an inclusive approach with strong teaching and classroom management skills and the ability to challenge and engage all students, promoting an environment of active and positive learning.
The Specialist Volleyball program at Greenwood College aims to provide students with opportunities to engage in a specific sporting context that enhances the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes promoting and enhancing personal and group engagement in lifelong healthy practices.
It is highly desirable that the successful applicant has the ability to coach high level, specialist skills as well as complex game awareness and strategies to students within the program, evidenced by appropriate coaching qualifications such as Volleyball Australia Level 2 Coaching Certification and/or Volleyball Australia Level 3 Elite Coaching Certification; have experience coaching and/or playing Volleyball at State, National or International level; experience teaching Volleyball programs to lower school students, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, with the capacity to identify instructional needs in relation to developmental stages required and the ability to teach Physical Education Studies within the context of Specialist Volleyball to upper school students and again, base instruction on the identified needs of developmental stages required.
The successful applicant will need to be prepared to run before and after school training sessions and commit to attending out of school time competitions and tournaments in a coaching, managerial and supervisory capacity with an understanding in leading, organising and planning tournaments, excursions, camps and extra-curricular activities including liaising with external providers.
In addition, the successful applicant will be required to teach lower school HPE classes and while experience with Physical Education Studies and/or Certificate II in Sport and Recreation delivery would be viewed favourably, it would not be a pre-requisite for employment. Further, a demonstrated ability to contribute to the Colleges extra-curricular Interschool Sporting Program would be highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
