Kojonup District High School (DHS) is seeking a high quality, dynamic and dedicated Year 1-6 teacher to join our team. At Kojonup DHS we have a strong belief every student can learn and that every moment counts.
We are seeking applicants who demonstrate that they are highly motivated, skilled and proactive in creating an effective, engaging and inclusive learning environment with high expectations and high care for all students. Applicants should be collaborative professionals, have excellent interpersonal skills, practise current pedagogy and demonstrate familiarity and expertise in all aspects of primary education.
To be successful in this role, you must be committed to improving student outcomes, ideally have a strong literacy and numeracy focus, and be skilled at differentiation and have effective classroom management skills. The successful applicant will work in a collaborative environment, implementing whole school practices, including evidence based strategies such as Talk for Writing and have experience using the Brightpath formative assessment tool.
Kojonup DHS is well equipped and well-resourced and caters for approximately 260 students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Visitors to the school are often struck by the positive atmosphere and friendly learning environment, along with the wrap around support provided to students.
Our School Council and active Parents & Citizens Association make valuable contributions to our school program, providing welcome advice and feedback on the strategic direction of the school and in raising funds to support school requirements and add to the aesthetic appeal of our buildings and grounds
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
