WA College of Agriculture - Denmark is looking for Residential Supervisor to join their team.
In this role the Residential Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day care of female teenage students, they must be able to work with colleagues to ensure appropriate supervision of large groups of students and to work with parents and staff to coordinate care needs for students and as such will require excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Please note part of this role includes the Supervision of the Female Dormitories, Sleepover shifts, Weekend shifts and Active Night Duties.
As this college is a Co-educational Residential Facility this position is Gender Specific.
The successful applicants will be required to provide a high level supervision and care for residential students. Supervisors are responsible for managing 12 to 18-year-old female students during afterschool hours and on weekends. In this role you will plan and organise activities in keeping with the Department's excursion policies and support students to be prepared for the learning program at the college. The position has responsibility for maintaining discipline and behaviour standards in accordance with Departmental and school policy. The Residential Supervisor liaises with College/School departments/faculties through line management in the provision of out of school hour activities. This includes the supervision of sporting and recreational activities, hostel facilities (example; female dormitory, dining room) and the management of student's residential timetables.
WA College of Agriculture - Denmark is a 560 hectare working farm and educational facility for Year 10, 11 and 12 students offering a wide variety of studies and industry training with an agricultural focus. We attract students from all over the state from a wide variety of backgrounds and have a capacity of around 140 students.
While the majority of our student’s board in the College's 95-bed residential facility, there are a number of day students, and a bus service is provided to and from Albany. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Hold or obtain within the first three months of appointment:
- an MR Class Vehicles Driver’s Licence with F endorsement;
- a Senior First Aid Certificate;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
