Oakwood Primary School (PS) is seeking an innovative, student and relationship focused Performing Arts teacher to join their friendly team.
We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic and team orientated teacher to work collaboratively with the leadership team and school community to expand our contemporary and distinctive school with a child focused identity. The successful applicant will ideally implement whole school approaches in teaching and learning, ensuring students are at the centre of everything we do, as we bring innovation and diverse learning experiences to every child. Demonstrated sound curriculum knowledge and strong pedagogical skills in literacy, numeracy and developing the whole child are highly regarded.
The successful applicant will have the innovation, capacity and passion to work collaboratively in a team environment, embracing classroom observation, feedback, modelling and coaching.
Oakwood PS opened as an Independent Public School for Kindergarten and Pre Primary students in January 2018. The second stage of the school was built in Meadow Springs and the school caters for the suburbs of Meadow Springs, Madora Bay and San Remo. Students up to Year 6 began attending in 2019. The school is committed to supporting the Department of Education strategic plan of ‘Every student, Every Classroom, Every Day’ by engaging, consulting and working collaboratively with the school community to provide a dynamic learning environment that is positive, inclusive and underpinned by strong values.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
