Mindarie Primary School (PS) is looking appoint a highly dedicated and motived Performing Arts teacher to work with students across the school, from Years 1 to 6.
Mindarie PS is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic Performing Arts teacher with knowledge, skills and experience teaching within the Music, Dance or Drama domains. Staff at Mindarie PS have a strong commitment to professional development, collaboration and continuous improvement to facilitate a best practice approach towards teaching and learning; whilst providing a rich, evidence-based curriculum and this will be evident in your application.
A commitment to implementing whole-school curriculum policies and programs will be evident, possessing all teachers' capacity to be attuned to the individual needs of students, and their authentic skill to provide an inclusive, fair and safe classroom. The successful applicant will also take responsibility for co-ordinating and running of the school-based choirs, junior and senior. They will also have an understanding of the co-ordination of the instrumental music program and possess the ability to work collaboratively with teachers from the School of Instrumental Music. Mindarie PS aims to continue to provide students with a varied exposure to performing arts opportunities including WAGSMS, Christmas Carols and other public events.

In implementing and upholding these ideals, our staff reflect an awareness of the types of services and support required by the students, families and the community of Mindarie and this northern coastal area in general.
Mindarie PS is a dynamic learning community catering for students from Kindergarten through to Year Six. The suburb of Mindarie is a seaside suburb located approximately 35 km north of the Central Business District of Perth in the Shire of Wanneroo. Mindarie PS’s core curriculum has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and science. Specialist programs operate in the following areas: Science, Physical Education, Music, Performing Arts and Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) for academically talented students in Years 4-6.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
