This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing in 2021 with possible twelve (12) month extension.
Statewide Services is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and solutions focused individual who will assist in leading a multi-disciplinary team based at Statewide Services in Padbury.
In collaboration with the Principal Advisor, the Program Coordinator will identify and broker appropriate statewide agencies and educational alternatives to support Departmental staff working with students excluded or at risk of being excluded. The Program Coordinator will lead and coordinate the involvement of services available at a system level and in regions for identified students. They will contribute to ensure quality support is provided for students and families in making informed choices about educational provision for their child.
The successful applicant will coordinate complex cases and provide high-level advice which will assist in the development of policies and procedures that align services and support to promote educational outcomes for these students. The Program Coordinator will provide professional leadership, coaching and mentoring programs to build capacity of staff and school networks as well as work with school staff to develop pathways and transition support for students.
The Statewide Services Division is responsible for the central portfolios that deliver support services to students and schools across the State to improve educational outcomes for all students. This includes ensuring there is state-wide integration of support to schools and students, providing policy advice, allocating resources, and monitoring programs and services to ensure high standards.
The successful applicant will also need to be prepared to travel if required and hold a current and valid ‘C’ class drivers licence.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs);
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
