Appointment Pool
Safety Bay Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated, talented and innovative Teachers of The Arts for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the above period within the contexts of Dance, Cheer, Drama, Media, Music and Visual Arts.
With an interest in working with young people, the suitable applicant will have a positive attitude and willingness to work with like-minded people. You will foster a love of learning in your students whilst engaging in ongoing professional learning opportunities. Safety Bay SHS is committed to developing the quality of teaching and learning on site, ensuring all staff will have a focus on Explicit Instruction and use evidence based High Impact Instructional Strategies (HITS) to develop their own capacity to deliver a challenging and intentional curriculum for all students to access and achieve the highest educational outcomes. To be successful in this role you will be a passionate educator, committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.
The expectation is that you will teach The Arts from Years 7-12. Applicants will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, vision and priorities across the school community. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
