Trayning Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to fill the position of a Primary Teacher.
As a teacher at Trayning PS you will work as part of a dedicated team, planning in collaboration with your colleagues to deliver learning programs that are consistent with well-defined whole school pedagogical approaches including using Western Australian Curriculum for planning and assessment. Primary teachers will be involved with team teach, as our unique school setting provides the opportunity to work with small groups of students in both homogenous and heterogeneous groupings. This will allow you the chance to extend and support students across the curriculum. Ideally the successfully applicant will possess the ability to nurture a calm classroom environment and support students emotionally. Training in the Talk4Writing program is highly desirable. A demonstrated ability to use the Calmer Classrooms philosophy in the classroom is also highly desirable.
As this position will be working within a K-6 multi-aged classroom, applicants should have the ability to run exceptional literacy and mathematics programs across a wide range of academic abilities. Applicants with experience with upper primary students will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally be an innovative and enthusiastic teacher able to take responsibility for learning programmes within a range of teaching areas. It is highly desirable for the successful applicant to have a high level of collaborative practice and the ability to reflect on their own performance to drive our shared goal of constant student improvement.
Trayning PS is a Level 3 rural primary school located in the Wheatbelt area of Western Australia. The town is approximately 250kms east of Perth between Nungarin and Wyalkatchem, and 78km south east of Merredin. Trayning boasts excellent recreational facilities including a well maintained swimming pool, tennis courts and gym. The community is very supportive of the work of the school and successful applicants would be expected to engage positively with our school community to further improve the learning outcomes of students. The area is predominately used for grain and sheep farming.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
