Wanneroo Secondary College (SC) is seeking an enthusiastic, engaging and highly competent teacher Drama and Media to join our vibrant team in The Arts.
The successful applicant will be required to teach students in years 7 to 12 across a range of abilities and talents. Proven experience in teaching General and Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) courses in both subjects would be highly advantageous. You will be a member of the Specialist Performing Arts team delivering the Specialist Program. Some classes in this program are held before and after the traditional school day. The successful applicant will have capacity to work collaboratively to deliver an extensive range of performances and productions and to ensure that these are of the highest standard. The Specialist Performing Arts program plays a pivotal role in our relationship with the college community.
Applicants should ideally be able to demonstrate sound professional knowledge and be relationship focused with strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively in a team environment. Also the successful applicant will have capacity to work collaboratively with the community on projects that enhance the standing of the college.
The successful applicant would also assist in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, integrate information technology into the curriculum, assist with the pastoral care of students and liaise with parents as required. The ability to incorporate current information and communication technologies to enhance teaching and learning is a skill that we seek in applicants.
Wanneroo SC is a co-educational secondary school catering for students from years 7 to 12. Opened in 1977, it’s located 24km north of the Perth CBD in a rapidly developing area with new suburbs constantly emerging and the fastest population growth rate in the country. It is expected that student numbers will be approximately 1300 in 2021.The staff of Wanneroo SC are dedicated and hard-working, sharing in a strong collegiate spirit and a school ethos that encourages and rewards effort and excellence.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
