Esperance and Castletown Primary Schools are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Technical Support Officer to join their teams. This position will be held over the two separate school sites, with 0.2FTE at each school.
The successful applicant will manage the information technology systems and equipment throughout the school and provide technical and practical assistance to staff and students in order to enrich and extend student learning experiences. They will assist with maintaining technical equipment/resources in line with occupational, safety and health practices.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be experienced with iPads as well as Windows networked infrastructure and Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) through JAMF and Apple School Manager would be highly desirable.
Experience with Department operation programs such as DAM, Self Service and Schools Internet Gateway (SIG) is also desirable.
Esperance Primary School (established 1956) is a Level 5 Government School and became an Independent Public School in January 2010. Our student population is currently 482 students and has mainly double streamed Kindergarten to Year 6 levels.

Castletown Primary School (established 1966) is a Level 5 Primary School situated in the seaside town of Esperance 720 kms from Perth. The school caters for 500 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- Conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to information technology problems.
- Ability to install and maintain network systems incorporating the Internet and Electronic Mail.
- Organisational skills to develop effective administrative practices and the initiative to work with minimum supervision.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
