Appointment Pool
Dardanup Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers K-6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of 2021.
Suitable applicants should possess a strong knowledge of all key elements of the Early Years (Kindergarten to Year 2) and/or Primary (Years 3 to 6) curriculum and pedagogy as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and committed to fostering and maintaining positive communication and relationships within the school and wider community.
Dardanup PS promotes a contemporary learning environment that empowers students to learn, grow and thrive. This focus means you will be self-reflective and committed to your own professional growth, using opportunities to gather, analyse and assess system, whole-of-school and classroom-based student achievement data in order make evidence-based decisions about you own teaching practice, as well as the practice of collaborative teams, with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for all students. The utilisation of peer and classroom observations and feedback to support professional development will form an important aspect of this role, as will the capacity to work as an active and effective member of a collaborative team, by sharing experiences and resources, responding to feedback and demonstrating an ongoing commitment to professional development.
Teachers who have additional expertise in key school approaches will be viewed favourably. These approaches include Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), iSTAR explicit teaching model, Brightpath and iMaths.
We are a small, rural school located 20 km south east of Bunbury in the foothills of Ferguson Valley, and provide educational opportunities for the whole child from Kindergarten to Year Six.
We demonstrate a caring approach to learning, with positive behaviour strategies that create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment. We use a strong value base of Care, Respect and Responsibility and a Manners Master program to reinforce good manners and respect for the school environment. These values are central to our whole school and community pastoral care.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
