Are you a confident and inspiring educator who can motivate students to excel in Health and Physical Education?
Melville Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of proactive, committed and passionate Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
There are four (4) positions available commencing in Term 1, 2021.
As the school of choice in the local and wider community we are seeking to recruit passionate, dynamic and highly skilled Health and Physical Education Teachers, with a specialised skill-set in teaching netball being preferable. Opportunities for suitable applicants include appointment to our coveted Specialist Netball Program and to other positions within the HPE department where you will teach across the Year 7 – 12 Health and Physical Education curriculum.
This pool is seeking to attract teachers with any or all of the following knowledge and skills:
- Intermediate or higher, netball coaching qualification (for an appointment to support the delivery of our Specialist Netball Program)
- Skills or interest in teaching ATAR Physical Education Studies, Health Studies; and/or
- A Certificate 2 in Sport Coaching and/or a Certificate 2 in Outdoor Recreation.
The Teacher – Health and Physical Education at Melville SHS has a specialist skillset in teaching netball; suitable applicants will be responsible for working together with the Teacher in Charge of Melville’s state-wide accredited Specialist Netball Program which is endorsed by Netball WA.
Suitable applicants appointed to positions in Term 1, 2021 will join our highly motivated and dedicated HPE team, in providing a comprehensive range of learning experiences that support student knowledge, skills and achievement in the broad range of curriculum courses and events offered in HPE across Year 7 to 12.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
