Appointment Pool
WA College of Agriculture - Narrogin are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
WA College of Agriculture - Narrogin is looking for proactive, intelligent and passionate English teachers who are able to effectively teach across the school English programs. This is a unique position in that it is for an Agricultural College. Understanding of Agriculture is a desirable quality for this position. Teachers with experience in teaching Senior School Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), General and Foundation courses are encouraged to apply.
A willingness to teach across areas of curriculum - including, but not limited to: Humanities and Social Sciences; Plant Production Systems; Animal Production Systems, and Health and Physical Education is desirable. Due to the nature of our school we are seeking applicants with an understanding of Agricultural Trades education and are cognisant of Vocational Education and Training (VET) processes and practices, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and risk managment.
Suitable applicants will also have effective interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, as well as the ability to work closely with students, parents and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. Ideally suitable applicants will use a range of teaching strategies (including Information and Communications Technology) to engage the students. Catering for the educational needs of each child so they achieve personal excellence is integral to this role.
The Western Australian College of Agriculture Narrogin has a long and proud history of servicing the agricultural community of Western Australia. Established in 1906, Narrogin is the oldest agricultural College in the state and consistently ranks in the Top Public Schools for Vocational Education and Training. Students in years 10 through to 12 enrol from all over the state and the majority board on site in attractive residential facilities with individual air conditioned rooms.
The course is centred on agriculture and related trades and students have access to education and training in industry relevant facilities. The theory of agriculture learned in the class program is coupled with practical skills developed on the college's 1340 hectare farm which operates a number of commercial scale enterprises. Students enjoy a varied week with full days out of the class environment and rostered to either farm or the trades workshops.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
