This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021
Collie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Teacher of Performing Arts to cover maternity leave.
The position will entail teaching Performing Arts to Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 as well as covering some classes in a different Learning Area. Applicants who have experience in, or are also willing to deliver lower school Humanities and Social Sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
A demonstrated ability and passion to teach Drama within the West Australian Curriculum requirements will be highly regarded. You will join an experienced and supportive team focussed on student achievement and success. The successful applicant will possess the skills and ability to build strong working relationships with both staff and students, display outstanding pedagogical and assessment practice and have highly developed collaborative skills.

Collie SHS is situated in a very engaging country town just over two hour’s drive south of Perth with great access to the Southwest. There are a wide variety of outdoor activities available in and around the town and it is an excellent starting point to explore this part of the State.
Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) is currently available and the position also attracts a district allowance. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a quality school within the Southwest.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
