Appointment Pool
Beaconsfield Primary School (PS) and our Rottnest Island Campus are seeking to establish a pool of Teachers K-6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year. Applicants are requested to indicate in their application their preference of work fraction (0.2-1.0FTE).
Applicants must be highly skilled and motivated educators, who are committed to placing student outcomes first and foremost. We are looking for dedicated teachers who are child focused and have high expectations of student achievement and teacher efficacy. The ability to collaborate is crucial, as is the capacity to form professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. Therefore, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for the position.
Suitable applicants will be committed to Beaconsfield PS whole school approaches and have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum. Teachers who can demonstrate exemplary practice in Literacy and Numeracy are strongly encouraged to apply. Beaconsfield PS is involved in the Centre for Excellence in the Explicit Teaching of Literacy, therefore experience with explicit teaching pedagogy and strategies will be an essential part of the suitable applicant’s teaching repertoire. The ability to develop high quality learning programs that effectively differentiate learning to support and extend students’ needs will be highly regarded, as will the ability to provide timely and effective student feedback. We are looking for teachers who are self-reflective and continually monitor the impact of teaching and learning in the classroom through the ongoing, rigorous analysis of student data.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
