Eaton Community College (CC) are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Mathematics Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will have high expectations, possess a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. They will be flexible and adaptive, able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction, explicit instruction and other evidence based instructional models. An ability to teach Mathematics across all year levels from Years 7 – 12 is desirable. Applicants with experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Mathematics Specialist, Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Applications, will be highly regarded.
To be successful, you will be a student and relationship focused teacher who is highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as possess an engaging and energetic teaching style. You will be able to reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practices using a variety of methods suited to the learning environment and the College. The expectations are about promoting an environment of active and positive learning, and providing educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve success. An ability and the qualifications to teach across other learning areas would be advantageous.
Eaton CC is a medium-sized school catering for approximately 580 students from Year 7 to Year 12 and is an Independent Public School. We offer a wide range of courses from Vocational Education Training (VET), General and ATAR subjects. We are a Positive Behaviour Support school prioritising whole school collaboration, engaging staff, students and parents in the development and evolution of shared expectations. The successful applicant will need to exhibit instructional classroom management strategies for effective classroom behaviours, which facilitate learning. This focus on social and emotional development is crucial to the success of the delivery of the curriculum. The teaching expectation is every teacher is delivering explicit teaching strategies and utilising formative assessment and data analysis to provide quality and effective teaching practices that target students’ needs.
This year we have embraced Professional Learning Communities focusing on two major areas: Quality Teaching and Social & Emotional Learning. These communities are a significant part of our whole school development and on-going improvements, engaging all staff in the process. We are highly supported by an internal Specialist Literacy Teacher and support personnel, with a current focus on reading, and a proactive Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team.
In addition, we have an Education Department endorsed Specialist Learning Program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The program is embedded within the learning environment and we demonstrate inclusive practices. Our educators access our highly skilled specialist personnel, who work with our mainstream educators towards differentiating and prioritising the strengths of individual students and their needs.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
